CASE STUDY
Building a brand to bring a Chicago relic back to life.
In 2014 I joined a team that was working on repositioning The Merchandise Mart for Vornado Realty Trust. The Mart is the largest commercial property in the US, and was full of untapped potential. I was the design strategist responsible for re-branding the building (Project 01) and activating the the building with a pop-up park (Project 02), an interactive art installation (Project 3) and temporary game lounge (Project 4), and the design and brand development of a workplace lounge, Marshall’s Landing (Project 5).
This project was a true cross functional effort, with owners, tenants, restauranteurs, architects, graphic designers, interior designers, and contractors willing to string 650 holiday ornaments to ceiling in 24 hours.
Six years later, Marshall’s Landing is still a successful and beloved Chicago destination. It has hosted weddings, corporate retreats and business luncheons, and many Chicago Bears fans.
